Oh Lord, Give Me a Saviour

Scripture: 2 Kings 13:5 — "And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime."

Introduction

Every man needs a Saviour. Who is a saviour? A saviour is someone sent by God—an individual who introduces divine possibilities into your life in place of impossibilities, breaking cycles of bondage and restoring peace where there was turmoil.

In 2 Kings, when Israel cried out under the cruel oppression of the Syrians, God did not just send a temporary fix; He raised a deliverer. It is a profound truth of the Kingdom that even the One who saves all required human partnership during His earthly walk.

II. You Need a Saviour Because It Is the Covenant Blessing

III. You Need a Saviour as Your Ultimate Helper

When Israel was bound in Egypt, they could not break the chains of Pharaoh by their own strength; they needed someone who could lead them out. God looked down and intervened.

Exodus 3:7 — "And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;"

God can appear to you and act as your Saviour in distinct, life-altering ways:
